RECRUITMENT OF UNEMPLOYED WOMEN

Beneficiaries

Eligible beneficiaries are employers who meet the following criteria:

 

  1. They are established and operate in areas controlled by the Republic of Cyprus.
  2. They are registered in the Social Insurance Registry as employers and have access to the Government Gateway.
  3.  They have not exceeded the limit of 5 individuals per Call that can be hired through the Scheme.
  4. They comply with Regulation 2023/2831 on de minimis aid.
  5. The salary to be paid cannot be lower than the national minimum wage:
  • €900 gross, initially.
  • €1,000 gross after 6 consecutive months of employment.

* Not eligible to participate:

  1. Self-employed individuals applying for funding for themselves.
  2. Family members of the employer up to the first or second degree.
  3. Individuals who have worked in the same company within the last 8 months prior to employment.

Eligible Costs

The subsidy covers part of the wage cost of employees and includes:

  1. Gross monthly salary, excluding overtime or other additional payments.

Mandatory employer contributions to:

  1. Social Insurance Fund,
  2. General Healthcare System (GHS),
  3. Central Leave Fund,
  4. Social Cohesion Fund,
  5. Redundancy Fund,
  6. Human Resource Development Fund.

*Double funding of the same expenses from another state or European program is not permitted.

Funding

  1. The subsidy is provided for 10 months of continuous employment, with the obligation to retain the employee for an additional 2 months without subsidy.
  2. Unit cost of the subsidy: €48 per day worked.
  3. Maximum amount per participant: €8,600.

Eligibility Criteria

To be approved under the Scheme, a business must meet the following conditions:


For the Employer:

  1. Active business engaging in economic activity.
  2. Settlement or arrangement of debts to the state (Tax Department, Social Insurance Services).
  3. Must not receive funding for the same person or expense from another body.
  4. The hiring must result in a net increase of staff in the specific occupation.

For the Employee:

  1. Must be an unemployed woman, registered with the Public Employment Service (PES) up to one day before or on the date of employment.
  2. Must be hired for a vacant job position declared by the employer to the PES.
  3. The application must be submitted within 31 days from the date of employment.
  4. Must not have worked for the same employer within the last 8 months prior to employment.
  5. The salary must not be lower than the national minimum wage:
  • €900 initially.
  • €1,000 after 6 months of continuous employment.
