RECRUITMENT OF INACTIVE WOMEN WITH FLEXIBLE EMPLOYMENT ARRANGEMENTS
Beneficiaries
Eligible beneficiaries are employers who meet the following criteria:
- They are established and operate in areas controlled by the Republic of Cyprus.
- They are registered in the Social Insurance Registry as employers and have access to the Government Gateway.
- They have not exceeded the limit of 5 individuals per Call that can be hired through the Scheme.
- They comply with Regulation 2023/2831 on de minimis aid.
- The salary cannot be lower than the national minimum wage:
- €900 gross, initially.
- €1,000 gross after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment
* Not eligible to participate:
- Self-employed individuals applying for funding for themselves.
- Family members of the employer up to the first or second degree.
- Individuals who have worked for the same company within the last 8 months prior to employment
Eligible Costs
The subsidy covers part of the wage cost of employees and includes:
- Gross monthly salary, excluding overtime or other additional payments.
Mandatory employer contributions to
- Social Insurance Fund,
- General Healthcare System (GHS),
- Central Leave Fund,
- Social Cohesion Fund,
- Redundancy Fund,
- Human Resource Development Fund.
* Double funding of the same expenses from another state or European program is not permitted.
Funding
- The subsidy is provided for 10 months of continuous employment, with the obligation to retain the employee for an additional 2 months without subsidy.
- Unit cost of the subsidy: €48 per day worked.
- Maximum amount per participant: €8,600
Eligibility Criteria
For the Employer:
- Active business engaging in economic activity.
- Settlement or arrangement of debts to the state (Tax Department, Social Insurance Services).
- Must not receive funding for the same individual or expense from another body.
- The hiring must result in a net increase of staff in the specific occupation.
For the Employee:
- Must be an inactive woman, as defined in the Scheme.
- Must be hired for a vacant position declared by the employer to the Public Employment Service (PES).
- The application must be submitted within 31 days from the date of employment.
- Must not have worked for the same employer within the last 8 months prior to employment.
- The salary must not be lower than the national minimum wage
- € 900 initially.
- €1,000 after 6 months of continuous employment
